The future of mountain biking at Quarry Ridge is taking shape!
Construction is underway on the new Quarry Ridge Bike Park! When complete, this progressive jump-line skills area will provide riders of all ages and abilities with a place to learn, progress, and have fun. From beginner-friendly table jumps to advanced gap jumps, the bike park is being designed so every rider has an opportunity to build skills and confidence in a purpose-built environment.
This exciting addition is possible thanks to the partnership between CORP Trails and the City of Fitchburg. The City has committed $40,000 toward start mound construction, materials, and equipment rental, giving this project a tremendous head start. To complete the bike park as envisioned, CORP Trails is raising the remaining $46,000 needed to finish the jump lines, ramps, and trail features. Thanks to a generous donor who pledged $20,000, we're already nearly halfway to our goal. Every donation brings us one step closer to opening this incredible new community destination!
Help us finish what we've started. Please donate today to help us close the remaining funding gap and bring this vision to life.
With your support, Quarry Ridge Recreation Area will become even more of a destination where kids and adults can learn to jump, experienced riders can hone their skills, and our community can grow together on bikes.
This project is already accomplishing something even bigger than a new bike park. As volunteers gather each week and riders begin using completed features, it's already becoming the community space everyone hoped it would be.
As project champion Matt Yerke puts it:
"When we originally conceived the idea for the Quarry Ridge Bike Park, our biggest hope was to create a gathering space for everyone. I didn't think it had a chance of building community until the park was fully done. But through work nights and daily use while it is being completed, we have already succeeded."
Trail steward Mike adds:
“Our vision was to have a place where people can come together, get better at jumping/riding their bikes and the experienced riders can share tips with younger or inexperienced riders. A place to encourage one another, help one another and create friendships that will last a lifetime. We set this up so when you are pushing back up to the start you can see other riders going throught the jumps and cheer them on. We want this to be a place that is really positive and all riders of all abilities will be able to come together and have a good time and encourage one another.”
Get Your Hands Dirty
Not able to donate? You can still be part of bringing the bike park to life. Join Trail Stewards Mike and Matt every Tuesday from 6:00–7:00 p.m. (weather permitting) as volunteers shape jumps, move dirt, and bring the bike park to life. Whether you've built trails before or are looking to lend a hand for the first time, we'd love to have you join us.
Whether you give, volunteer, or simply come ride when it's finished, you're helping build more than a bike park. You're helping build the next generation of riders and a stronger mountain biking community.
