Membership FAQs

For many years, CORP Trails has proudly partnered with the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) as a chapter member. During that time, IMBA has provided membership administration, organizational support, and valuable guidance that helped CORP Trails grow from a small volunteer-driven organization into the thriving trail community we are today.

As CORP Trails has grown, so have our capabilities. We are excited to announce that beginning August 1, 2026, CORP Trails will begin managing memberships directly and operating as an independent organization.

This transition represents an important milestone in our organization's evolution. By managing memberships locally, we will be able to provide a more personalized member experience, develop benefits tailored to our community, and invest more membership dollars directly into the trails, programs, and riding opportunities here in south-central Wisconsin.

We are grateful for IMBA's years of partnership and support and look forward to building on that foundation as we enter this exciting new chapter for CORP Trails.

CORP Trails Membership FAQs

Why is CORP Trails making this change?

Managing memberships locally will allow CORP Trails to:

  • Keep more membership dollars supporting local trails and delivering exciting new projects

  • Offer local benefits

  • Simplify joining and renewing

  • Streamline member service and communications

  • Better connect members with CORP Trails programs, events, and volunteer opportunities

In 2027, IMBA is changing their relationship with local trail organizations and will no longer be providing the same benefits and services. By making this change now, CORP Trails is ensuring a smooth transition for our members.

What will happen to my current CORP Trails / IMBA memberships?

Your membership will continue uninterrupted, and your expiration date will not change.

Your current membership will remain active through its expiration date and will automatically transfer to CORP Trails' new membership system.

Until your current membership expires, you will continue to be both:

  • A CORP Trails member

  • An IMBA National Supporter

What happens when it is time to renew my membership?

When your membership is due for renewal, you will get an invitation to create an account in CORP Trails' new membership system and renew directly with us. Please note that renewing directly with IMBA will no longer include a CORP Trails membership. Any membership contributions made directly to IMBA will support IMBA's national programs and advocacy efforts and will not be shared with CORP Trails.

What about my member benefits?

CORP Trails members will have access to new discounts and special offers from participating local bike shops and businesses. Members will also have access to discounts on CORP skills clinics, invitations to special events, and member-exclusive merch. View our current list of member partners and benefits here: [Add Link]

Until your expiration date, you will retain all member benefits provided by IMBA (https://www.imba.com/member-benefits).

What about my socks?

When you renew your CORP Trails membership, you will have the option to get CORP Trails socks.

What if I pay monthly for my membership?

After August 1, you will continue to be an IMBA member but will no longer be a CORP Trails member, and 100% of your membership fee will support IMBA’s national advocacy. Members paying monthly need to follow the steps below to become CORP Trails members and support local mountain biking.

  • Steps to cancel IMBA monthly membership

    • Login to imba.com

    • Go to your personal dashboard and go to the Current membership status section

    • Select Cancel next to Auto-renew

  • If you have questions, please contact IMBA at membership@imba.com.

If you have questions, please contact us at info@corptrails.org

What happens to my annual auto-renewal?

Annual auto-renew settings established through IMBA will not transfer to CORP Trails. When your membership comes up for renewal, you will need to renew directly through CORP Trails.

Is CORP Trails leaving mountain bike advocacy?

Absolutely not. Local advocacy is one of the primary reasons CORP Trails is making this change.

CORP Trails will keep advocating for mountain biking, trail access, trail development, stewardship, and responsible riding throughout south-central Wisconsin. We will continue to partner with private landowners, municipalities, county governments, the Wisconsin DNR, and others to create new riding opportunities and keep existing trails open to the public.

Your CORP Trails membership will direct more resources to advance local projects like the Quarry Ridge Bike Park, trail expansion at New Glarus Woods State Park, improvements at Blue Mound State Park, and new trail systems at Wild Oaks Preserve, Burdocks and GE.

While CORP Trails will manage its own memberships beginning August 1, we continue to value IMBA's leadership in national advocacy, education, and trail resources. Riders who wish to support both local and national mountain bike advocacy are encouraged to support both CORP Trails and IMBA.

What is changing with CORP Trails’ relationship with IMBA?

CORP Trails will no longer participate in IMBA's chapter membership program, and our memberships will no longer be administered through IMBA. However, we will continue to work alongside IMBA and support its important national advocacy and education efforts. CORP Trails will continue to have access to many IMBA programs, resources, and opportunities that benefit our local riding community.

How can I support both organizations?

In addition to supporting CORP Trails' local trail building, maintenance, stewardship work, you can support IMBA's national advocacy, education, and trail access initiatives. At the end of your current membership term, you will have the option to renew your support for CORP Trails, IMBA, or both.

If I renew my membership with IMBA, will I continue to be a CORP Member too?

No. After August 1, 2026, if you renew your IMBA membership, you will be a national supporter, and no portion of your membership dues will be shared with CORP Trails.
