Quarry Ridge Bike Park: featuring progressive jump-lines

The Vision

The Quarry Ridge Bike Park will feature progressive jump-line features that allow riders to build confidence and advance their abilities alongside beginner-friendly skills lines for young riders and those new to cycling.

The park will be a free, public facility designed for riders of all ages and abilities. Like a playground or skatepark, it will provide an engaging environment where people can develop skills, challenge themselves, and have fun outdoors.

Why It Matters

Children and adults today spend less time outdoors and more time in front of screens. Outdoor recreation provides a powerful antidote, improving physical health, mental well-being, and social connection.

The Quarry Ridge Bike Park will:

  • Encourage active, healthy lifestyles

  • Provide a safe place to ride and learn

  • Create opportunities for unstructured outdoor play for kids and adults

  • Build confidence, independence, and resilience

Community Impact

The Quarry Ridge Bike Park is more than a recreational amenity; it is an investment in community well-being.

For Economic Vitality As a regional destination, the park will attract visitors who support local businesses, restaurants, and lodging while enhancing Fitchburg's reputation as a Bicycle-Friendly Community!

For Community Connection It will serve as a gathering place where families, friends, and neighbors can connect through shared experiences.

For Youth Development - The park will help young people build coordination, perseverance, confidence, and a lifelong love of outdoor recreation.

Project Readiness and Plan

This project is a unique partnership harnessing the expertise of volunteer-driven CORP trails and the City of Fitchburg. The design is complete, and construction of the beginner lines has already started! The City of Fitchburg has committed $40,000 as a matching grant to construct the start mound, which is expected in the fall of 2026

Our goal is to raise $46,000 to add to the City’s contribution to complete a high-quality progressive bike park. The total budget includes fabrication of metal and wood ramps and skill features, machine rental, a new tool shed, and signs, with work done by volunteers.

This bike park will encourage active, healthy lifestyles while providing a safe place for riders to build confidence, independence, and resilience.
