Quarry Ridge Bike Park Workday
Over the Oct 25-26, 2026 weekend over 25 volunteers made huge progress on the Quarry Ridge Bike Park.
What we did:
Dug out better drainage at the beginning of the return trail and installed a larger area of pavers in the low area so it will be easy to ride across when it is wet. This will most likely only be wet when we get tons of rain, like 3 or 4" in a day or two. It should make the end of the beginner line more rideable after big rain events.
Dug out drainage at the base of the start mound between the medium and small lines.
Installed 120' of cedar split rail fence along the access road so people won't just cut across the park to ride. Force them to use the main entrance and exit trails we have in place.
Put in rollers between jumps one and two and between jumps two and 3.
Finished the last jump in the XL line and the last two features in the large line. These will be tested and adjusted going forward. All out of dirt at this point.
Leveled out all of the dirt piles and generally cleaned up around the park so it doesn't look so much like a construction site.
Added more dirt to the starting area to create a slightly bigger temporary starting platform up on the top.
Pulled out 2 of the ramps on the large line to adjust the spacing of the jumps so it flows better. One gap was made bigger and one was made smaller.
A lot of hand work shaping and packing in landings, rollers and a few take offs and the sides of jumps (a plate compactor was used to get some areas really packed in).
Roughly cleared out a spot for a picnic table/ hangout area along the return trail and a corridor for spectators to safely enter to be able to watch.
Used the mini excavator to clear out a spot for the new shed over at the main trail head.
