Sponsorship Spotlight: Blue Mounds Bicycle Works

Since opening in August 2018, Blue Mounds Bicycle Works has brought a unique mountain biking shop experience to the area and built the shop around owner Zach Gordon’s love of high-end mountain bikes and hard-to-find parts, inspired by the shops he visited on family vacations out west.

Zach’s support for CORP Trails is rooted in a simple belief: mountain bikers should have great trails close to home. He remembers when Dane County had no designated mountain bike trails and riders often relied on local hiking trails, since the nearest established mountain biking destinations were places that were hours away. Today, Zach is helping to ensure that local riders have more riding opportunities to enjoy the sport he loves.

Zach has taken his longtime commitment to CORP a step further by becoming the trail steward for Blue Mound State Park. With his leadership, significant trail improvements are underway this year, with a focus on making the trails even better while preserving the character that makes Blue Mound special. It’s a trail Zach has loved riding since the early 2000s and has called his home trail since moving to the Mount Horeb area in 2008.

Zach also invests in the next generation of riders, working closely with the Mount Horeb NICA mountain biking team as a Level 2 coach.

We’re grateful to Zach and Blue Mounds Bicycle Works for his continued support of CORP Trails commitment to building a stronger local mountain biking community. Thank you for helping make great riding close to home possible!
