What is CORP?
CORP Trails is a member-powered community of riders, builders, and advocates working to create and care for the trails we all love. Together, we maintain more than 80 miles of singletrack across 20 locations in south-central Wisconsin, teach skills on and off the bike, and bring people together through group rides, clinics, and trail days. If you love having great trails close to home—or want to be part of the community that makes them possible—we'd love to have you join us.
When you join
For many years, CORP Trails has proudly partnered with the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) as a chapter member. During that time, IMBA has provided membership administration, organizational support, and valuable guidance that helped CORP Trails grow from a small volunteer-driven organization into the thriving trail community we are today.
As CORP Trails has grown, so have our capabilities. We are excited to announce that, beginning August 1, 2026, CORP Trails will manage memberships directly and operate as an independent organization.
This transition represents an important milestone in our organization's evolution. By managing memberships locally, we will be able to provide a more personalized member experience, develop benefits tailored to our community, and invest more of our membership dollars directly in the trails, programs, and riding opportunities here in south-central Wisconsin.
We are grateful for IMBA's years of partnership and support and look forward to building on that foundation as we enter this exciting new chapter for CORP Trails.

Annual auto-renew settings established through IMBA will not transfer to CORP Trails. When your membership comes up for renewal, you will need to renew directly through CORP Trails.
-
Absolutely not. Local advocacy is one of the primary reasons CORP Trails is making this change.
CORP Trails will continue to advocate for mountain biking, trail access, trail development, stewardship, and responsible riding throughout south-central Wisconsin. We will continue to partner with private landowners, municipalities, county governments, the Wisconsin DNR, and others to create new riding opportunities and keep existing trails open to the public.
Your CORP Trails membership will direct more resources toward advancing local projects such as the Quarry Ridge Bike Park, trail expansion at New Glarus Woods State Park, improvements at Blue Mound State Park, and new trail systems at Wild Oaks Preserve, Burdocks, and GE.
While CORP Trails will manage its own memberships beginning August 1, we continue to value IMBA's leadership in national advocacy, education, and trail resources. Riders who wish to support both local and national mountain bike advocacy are encouraged to support both CORP Trails and IMBA.
-
CORP Trails will no longer participate in IMBA's chapter membership program, and our memberships will no longer be administered through IMBA. However, we will continue to work alongside IMBA and support its important national advocacy and education efforts. CORP Trails will continue to have access to many IMBA programs, resources, and opportunities that benefit our local riding community.
-
In addition to supporting CORP Trails' local trail building, maintenance, stewardship work, you can support IMBA's national advocacy, education, and trail access initiatives. At the end of your current membership term, you will have the option to renew your support for CORP Trails, IMBA, or both.
-
No. After August 1, 2026, if you renew your IMBA membership, you will be a national supporter, and no portion of your membership dues will be shared with CORP Trails.
Our story
Our journey began in 1994 with the founding of the Wisconsin Off-Road Bicycle Association in Madison. This passionate group proudly became the state's first advocacy organization for mountain biking. Eventually, it merged with the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin and temporarily paused its activities. We are excited to continue this vital work as the Capital Off-Road Pathfinders (but our friends call us CORP Trails)!
See our impact
Building relationships
We collaborate closely with city, county, and state property managers to create meaningful land-use agreements that open up public trails for everyone to enjoy. We’re also passionate about raising funds to support our initiatives.
Our dedicated volunteers step up to write grant applications, seek sponsorship dollars, and promote engaging fund drives to enhance mountain biking projects.
Managing trail builds
Our Trail Development committee thoughtfully prioritizes and guides these projects, ensuring we coordinate seamlessly with volunteers and professionals while working alongside property managers on master plans, specifications, approval steps, and construction schedules.
Maintaining our trails
We proudly have over forty volunteer trail stewards who lead other volunteers in restoring trails and structures like bridges and boardwalks, mowing grass, trimming weeds, clearing fallen trees, and blowing leaves to keep our trails beautiful and accessible!
