Current conditions

  • Badger Prairie is a 2.75 mile multi-use mowed grass path network through rolling prairie terrain. It is suited for cyclocross riding, non-technical off-road riding for the whole family, bird watching, and pond watching. Badger Prairie County Park also features a shelter, playground, dog park, and aeromodeling field.

After a rain event Badger Prairie generally absorbs water quickly; but if your tires are leaving ruts or depressions in the turf the area is considered closed to riding. These channels would direct water downhill and expedite erosion.

  • A Dane County mountain bike trail pass is required to ride at Badger Prairie, Seminole, and CamRock.

Be sure to check the current conditions and plan accordingly.

Please yield to other park visitors and ride safely.  Check the kiosk at the trailhead for important information, and obey trail signs and closures.

  • The park is accessible from Cross Country Road, Maple Grove Drive, or by bicycle on the paved Ice Age Junction bicycle route between the Military Ridge State Trail and Cross Country Road.
