New Glarus Woods Phase II Progress

1.5 miles of new trail have been completed this season and will open soon at New Glarus Woods State Park, bringing the total distance there to 2.5 miles. The crew will next begin a 0.25-mile segment connecting the new gravel parking lot to the mountain bike trails. Another 1.4 miles are planned to be completed before the end of the season, weather permitting, bringing the total to over four miles.

Beginner and intermediate trails are being built by Mike Riter of Trail Design Specialists, along with volunteers Karl Wigdal and Ben Neff, using equipment CORP Trails owns in partnership with Driftless Area Land Conservancy and BadgerLand Foundation.
